Hawks Start out 2009 With New Look
Homer Hawks are please to unveil its 2009 website and welcomes a new team to
the Hawks. Tom Cavin and his 2008 12U Metro Championship Team has decided
to join the homer Hawks. Tom's team will make a total of 11 teams for the
Homer Hawks. Tom brings a wealth of coaching knowledge and a very talented
young team with him. The Hawks look forward to having a great season
and looks forward to having more young ladies join the Hawks family.
Hawks 18 Purple Battle in Elgin

The Homer Hawks 18 Purple played in the ASA National qualifier
in Elgin. Friday morning they won both pool games, winning an international
tiebreaker against the Illinois Bandits in a thriller. Settling down, the Hawks
beat the Illinois Chill 4-1.
Double elimination started Saturday and the Elk Grove Heat pitched a shut out
and dumped them into the loser’s bracket. Starting the long road the Hawks beat
the McHenry County Heatwave 6-4 with Marcy Medina scoring twice and the Illinois
Thunder 6-2. Hillary Hubert had a Home Run and Ashlee Needy drove in a run and
scored one as the Hawks finished off the Thunder to get to Sunday.
First up were the Chicago Outburst and the Hawks won 5-1 behind great defense by
Taylor Snooks, Tess Erwinski, and Hillary Hubert and Amy Narotsky’s three
hitter. Lauren Wells had 3 RBI’s and Tess Erwinski had two more. Kelsey
Jankowski held the Barrington Hurricanes to 2 runs and the Hawks scored 5 with
RBI’s from Anna Marie Mitchell, Dana Owens, Kelsey Jankowski, Katie Paulmeyer,
and Lauren Wells (Home Run). Next up was the rematch with the Elk Grove Heat and
the Hawks prevailed 4-1 with 3 pitchers and 2 catchers doing the work. Marcy
Medina had 2 hits and scored the breakthrough run.
Down to three teams standing, playing their 4th game of the day and third
straight the Hawks finally were beat by the Bartlett Silver Hawks who already
have a bid to ASA Nationals. The Hawks prevailed in an elimination game 5
straight times before losing the 6th in a span of about 25 hours.
The Homer Hawks Purple finished 3rd out of 27 teams going 7-2 over the weekend.
There were a lot of very good teams in Elgin. To do well a team needs a little
luck but the determination of these athletes was something to be proud of.

Hawks win Oak Lawn Jr's Championship!

10U started out sluggish going 2-2 in pool play, but turned it around once
bracket play started. The Hawks opened up bracket play by defeating Stone City
9-0, then they beat the Bridgeview Redbirds by a score of 9-2. In the
championship game, they defeated the Orland Park Sparks 9-5 capping off a day of
perfect bracket play going 3-0 to win the Oak Lawn Jr's 32nd annual
championship. The Hawks finished the weekend 5-2 and are now traveling to
Colorado to play in the prestigious Colorado Sparklers Jr's Tournament. Good

10U Mini's fought all weekend to win the NSA Homestead Restaurant Classic in
Kankakee, IL. The 10U played through dusty diamonds and extreme adversity
managing to show their moxy and dominate their competition. The Mini's
brought home a well earned championship. Congratulations ROCKstars!!!!

14U Teal Wins Outbrust Championship

12U Black Wins Wasco Diamonds Championship
12U Black won the Wasco Diamond's Classic and earned their bid to go and play
in the USSSA World Series at Disney's Wide World of Sports in Orlando, Florida.
The ladies went 7 -0 for the weekend, outscoring their opponents 64 - 7. The
weekend was filled with some outstanding pitching and defense, and some clutch
two out hitting.

10U Mini's fought all weekend to win the NAFA Memorial Day Blowout in Crown
Point, IN. The 10U played through dusty diamonds managing to out hit, out run,
and out score their skilled opponents in order to bring home a well deserved
championship for the Homer Hawk organization. Congratulations Mini's on your
Blowout Championship!!!

14 Teal wins 16u championship in Lisle Slammers Tournament

HAWKS TEAL 14U SPARKS TOURNAMENT CHAMPIONS EARNING A BID TO ASA NORTHERN
NATIONALS!

Homer Hawks Teal go 6-0 in a field of
26 teams in the tournament of champions. The Hawks faced tough competition
all weekend including , the Redbirds, New Lenox Lightning, Indy Dreams, Northern
Ice and MIshiana Mystic including teams form Michigan and Indiana.
18U GOLD HAWKS REILLY SIGNS WITH BETHEL COLLEGE

The Hawks Danielle Reilly signed a National Letter of Intent
to play softball at Bethel College in Mishawaka, IN. Reilly is a senior utility
player from Joliet Catholic Academy (Joliet, IL) and plays travel softball for
the Homer Hawks 18u Gold.
“I’m very excited about Danielle’s strengths and what she’ll add to our
program,” said Bethel Head Softball Coach Anna Welsh. “She’s athletic, has great
character and work ethic and a very good attitude. She’s a true utility player
and can be successful at so many positions. I look forward to working with her
every day to see how she will truly impact our team.”

10U fought all weekend to win the Midwest Sluggers Softballapalozza in Moline,
IL. This weekend the 10U played together as a team with good pitching, good
defense and timely hitting throughout the weekend. In bracket play the Hawks
erupted and out scored their opponents by a total of 28-2 bringing home the
championship trophy.

Hawks 10U Go 3-1 On The Weekend, 2-0 on Sunday to Win the Championship
Sunday March 15, 2009 10U fought all weekend to win the Dragons Dome ASA "A"
Northern National qualifier in Pekin.
This weekend the 10U faced some fierce competition going 3-1 in bracket play to
win the championship. Sunday they came out with strong pitching performances,
timely hitting and stellar defense to take the title. Even though the games were
close, the mini hawks never cracked under pressure and persevered.

Sunday - February 22, 2009 - The Homer Hawks 12U Black took
1st place in the Winter indoor Max league . The 12u Black defeated the Northern Ice by
a score of 10-3. The Championship earns the 12u Black an NSA National bid. GREAT

14U Black Indoor Max Championship Team
Sunday - February 22, 2009 - The Homer Hawks 14U Black took
1st place in the Winter indoor Max league . The 14U Black We won 1-0 and
went undefeated in the winter league. CONGRATS HAWKS.

Hawks 10U Host Cosmic Bowling Fundraiser
Homer Hawks 110Uu
will be holding a Cosmic Bowling Fundraiser. The 10U team is raising money
for the Colorado Sparkler Juniors, held in Northern Colorado, Colorado from
6/29/2009-7/5/2009. Come out to this great event and support the 10U team's
dream of heading to one of the best tournaments in held in the United States.

Hawks 14U Teal - Tom Cavin - Win Rockford Championship

Hawks 16U Black Travel To Eastern Michigan University (EMU)
Homer Hawks 16U Black Travel will be traveling to Eastern Michigan University
the weekend of February 7th for the Eastern Michigan University Indoor
Tournament. The program allows for a 3 game tournament to be played on the
beautiful EMU campus located in Ypsilanti, Michigan.
The program will have EMU coaches and players observing and umpiring the games.
This process not allows for a great teaching experience for he Hawk Ladies but
also an opportunity for for exposure. Good Luck Hawks.
10U WIN NSA CONSOLATION CHAMPIONSHIP AT HOWLING

Kankakee Illinois - The Homer Hawks 10U Minis traveled to compete for a NSA
national bid in the Howling Tournament. Despite starting out a little sluggish
on Saturday, the Mini Hawks came back with a vengeance on Sunday to knock down
both Chi Town and Redbirds teams to capture the consolation championship. The
Hawks gave a solid performance in their first game with a score of 13-0 against
Chi Town. In the second game the Minis continued their momentum with timely
hitting, strong pitching, and dependable defense throughout the game to capture
the consolation championship vs Redbirds by a score of 12-2.

Win The Championship
Sunday October 5, 2008 - The Homer Hawks 10U battled all weekend to win the
Spooktacular ASA 'A' Northern National Qualifier in Moline this weekend.
As the weekend approached the 10U were looking at many powerful and competitive
teams they would be facing. The task proved to be difficult but the Mini Hawks
were up to the challenge as the final 2 games were decided in International Tie
Breakers. The Mini Hawks never gave up and persevered to take the title. Great
pitching, timely hitting and strong defense were the keys to victory.
Hawks Win 2008 Turkey Shoot-out Championship
Joliet Illinois - The Homer Hawks 14U Purple and 16U Black captured the
Turkey shoot-out championship this weekend in Joliet, Illinois. The Hawks
dominated the competition with the 16U outscoring its opponents 23-1 with tons
of offense, great defense and using only one pitcher all tournament.
The 14U Purple Hawks outscored their opponents by a combined 30 - 5. All three
14u pitchers threw complete games, the defense played error free, and the
offense was dominant.
